Overview
The Superintendent's Residence (est. 1897) at the Sault Ste. Marie Canal — a National Historic Site — reimagined as a Net-Zero pub and bed-and-breakfast. The retrofit preserves the heritage stone envelope while bringing the building up to Passive House / EnerPHit performance.
A deep-energy strategy — a high-performance airtight envelope, heat-recovery ventilation and on-site renewables — is validated with PHPP energy modelling, driving operational energy toward net-zero.
